Terry and Clare would like to offer you a warm and friendly welcome to Victoria House
which is a Victorian semi detached residence built in the late 1800s in the traditional carpet town of Kidderminster. The front garden contains a fine specimen of the Monkey Puzzle tree as well as a large pine tree. There are 7 bedrooms varying in size and style but all with similar modern furnishings and an easy chair, fully double glazed and centrally heated. Triple, double and single rooms available - all rooms contain colour TVs and hospitality trays with blankets in addition to duvets as well as extra heaters. All our rooms are non smoking.
There is open car parking for 6 cars at the rear.

A hearty full cooked breakfast is served in our bright and airy south facing breakfast room. Yoghurts, fresh fruit and cereals also served for those who desire a lighter start to the day. Special diets catered for on request.

Location & Nearby Attractions

We are situated approximately 200 yards from the main line railway station and the Severn Valley Steam Railway on the A448 Kidderminster to Bromsgrove road - approximately 10 minutes walk from the town centre with many places to eat nearby. We offer the use of our breakfast room for residents who would prefer to bring a takeaway into the house. There are many fine pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.

Centrally situated for business travellers visiting Worcestershire and the West Midlands, Kidderminster is easily accessible from the M5/M6 and M42 motorway links. Attractions within easy distance include Ironbridge, Malvern Hills, Stratford upon Avon, Black Country Museum and of course Worcester - Elgar's birthplace and home of the Elgar Museum, Worcester cathedral and Worcester porcelain, most of which are accessible by rail or bus.

Birmingham and associated attractions are about 30 minutes away with the NEC, NIA and Birmingham International Airport about an hour. Birmingham's Symphony Hall is a great music venue. Theatre lovers would appreciate the productions performed at the Birmingham Repertory and Alexandra Theatres, as well as the superb Malvern Theatres and the smaller Swan Theatre and Huntingdon Arts Centre in Worcester. Kidderminster also has its own local theatre, The Rose.

For those with activities in mind, walkers would enjoy Kinver Edge, the Clent Hills, Wyre Forest and the Severn Valley, Titterstone Clee, Brown Clee and the Long Mynd are also reachable by car - maps and walking books are available for use during your stay. You would be surprised how many long distance footpaths and circular walks there are within an easy drive. Cyclists would appreciate the new National Cycle Route 45 from Bewdley to Bridgnorth.
For those of you who fancy a golfing break - there are many golf clubs in the area - Kidderminster Golf Club is just a short distance away as well as Habberley Golf Club, Wharton Park Golf Club, Budley Pines Golf Club and Wyre Forest, Ombersley and Bromsgrove Pay and Play ranges. There are race courses at Worcester, Wolverhampton, Ludlow, Cheltenham and Stratford upon Avon.

Accommodation

Please note all our rooms are on the first or second floors and we do not have a lift. There are two flights of stairs (13 steps plus 4 steps) to the first floor and four flights of stairs (another 8 steps plus 7 steps) to the second floor.

Our double bedded rooms have modular showers and toilets. These are a compact all in one unit measuring about 4ft x 3ft and are rather like an aircraft toilet and washbasin with a shower on the side. For anyone who is taller or larger than average, we would recommend the twin bedded room with full sized shower and toilet.

The seven letting bedrooms are as follows:

Room 2
Double with modular en suite shower and toilet.
This room is on the back of the house on the first floor.

Room 3

Room 4 & 5
These are both standard single rooms with washbasin and are both on the front of the house on the first floor.
They share a full sized shower and toilet which is on the half landing on the rear of the house.
