The lounge is equipped with a sofa-bed, tv, video and hi-fi. Sycamore is independently centrally heated and there is no shortage of hot water. Bed and breakfast accomodation is also possible but subject to availability. Across the road is The White Horse Inn serving excellent food at very reasonable cost.

Sycamore CottageQuidhampton is situated about two miles to the west of the ancient City of Salisbury Wiltshire. Salisbury is dominated by the medieval Cathedral c.1220 and its magnificent spire, a later addition, rising to a breathtaking height of 404ft/123m, making it the tallest spire in England.

Within the ancient walls of the Cathedral Close itself, a fine array of English architecture can be found, where the likes of Sir Christopher Wren have made signicant contributions. The oldest building in The Close is the Medieval Hall. Some of the houses are open to the public. In fact a visit to the Cathedral and Close is a family outing not to be missed!

Sycamore CottageSalisbury itself is a thriving shopping centre with hundreds of shops, inns and eating houses to satisfy any need. The street layout was originally designed as a grid system called 'chequers' and several areas in the City still enjoy their medieval titles. It is in fact rumoured that the design for the layout of the streets of New York City was originally inspired by that of Salisbury.

The mysteries and intrigue of Stonehenge, the splendour of Wilton House, a stately home, and the joy of the Wiltshire countryside are all within the easiest reach. The New Forest and the South Coast resorts are all less than an hour by car.
