Words alone cannot describe how beautiful this part of Scotland is, the village of Aberfoyle nestles in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park; part of the world renowned Trossachs (made famous by Queen Victoria, Rob Roy and Sir Walter Scott). The Trossachs themselves are in the heart of Scotland's first National Park.Within walking distance you will find yourself at the shores of the same lochs that Rob Roy fought and hid beside. Cycle for a few minutes and you will find hidden lochs and paths that are hardly visited. But don't think you are in the middle of nowhere, Aberfoyle and the Trossachs are unique in giving you the feeling of total escapism, but in reality you are within an hour of the cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh & Perth and Stirling is only 30 minutes by car.

Imagine your first night at Stoneypark, you arrive early evening, in Aberfoyle, a bustling village with many interesting shops, pubs and restaurants. Driving through the village along Loch Ard road you pass the local Primary School and Church (both historic buildings) and spot Stoneypark. Turn right into our driveway, park and know your holiday has begun. Tired, you may wish to relax first in our guest lounge or garden, planning your holiday itinery, or you may decide to wander round the village to get your bearings. Maybe it's a relaxing holiday doing nothing in particular, or perhaps you want to use the Trossachs as a base to explore central Scotland, either way you will be pleasantly surprised at how accessible Aberfoyle is whilst still retaining a feeling of splendid isolation.
