 | The City of Worcester records Roman origins and later survived the marauding Vikings. The magnificent Cathedral, which dates from Norman times, 1100AD, is the burial place of King John and Henry, Price of Wales, the eldest son of Henry VII and brother of the infamous Henry VIII. The City of Worcester was the Headquarters of King Charles II during the Civil war and the final battle was fought here in 1651. During this time the City of Worcester was affectionately called 'The faithful City' by the Royalist followers.
The Hotel is an excellent base to set off for the Cotswolds, Oxford, and Stratford upon Avon, Welsh Borders and Cheltenham. |
