A traditional 18th-century inn, The Shoulder Of Mutton stands on the edge of the tiny, picturesque village of Kirby Hill and enjoys magnificent panoramic views of Holmedale and beyond.
Open log fires burn in the bar areas, where guests may enjoy drinks and bar meals in a relaxing atmosphere, and in the dining room, where exposed stone walls and original beams provide the perfect backdrop for enjoying our renowned home cooking.

Real England starts here amidst deep cellars, oak beams, Yorkshire twang and chatter over hand-pulled cask ales such as Cumberland and Black Sheep. A large selection of malt whiskies and a comprehensive wine list are available in warm and friendly surroundings.
We offer B&B Accommodation with full English Breakfast in our five en-suite bedrooms.

Take the A1(M) and continue onto the A1. At the Scotch Corner roundabout turn right onto the A66 towards Brough. After approximately 5 miles (7.5 km) take the left turn signposted "Ravensworth / Kirby Hill". Go straight on through Ravensworth and after about a mile (1.5 km) take a sharp right turn, signposted "Kirby Hill". This road will take you straight to the inn (0.5 miles / 0.8 km).

Go straight on through Ravensworth and after about a mile (1.5 km) take a sharp right turn, signposted "Kirby Hill". This road will take you straight to the inn (0.5 miles / 0.8 km).
