About Brixham
Nestling in the southernmost curve of Torbay is the historic port of Brixham where a large fishing fleet still works out of the picturesque harbour that over the centuries has resisted change.
Quaint houses in narrow street and steep steps meandering around the harbour give Brixham a sense of agelessness. The port has a wealth of shops to suit all tastes, from old fashioned linen to Devonshire toffee and clotted cream.
The Berry Head County Park, The Napoleonic Fortress and the Coastal Path are a must lovers of history and nature.
Getting Here
From London or the North: Take the M5 South to the end of the motorway, and continue beyond Exeter on the A38 dual carriageway. At the A38/A380 fork, take the left-hand A380 towards Torbay (the right-hand fork can also be taken for a slightly longer route via Totnes). At the large Penn Inn roundabout at Newton Abbot, continue on the A380 towards Torquay. At the next roundabout, on the outskirts of Torquay, turn right to follow the A380 Ring Road. Continue along the Ring Road past Paignton and follow the signs for Brixham.
