Parc-Le-Breos House
Parc-le-Breos is a large 19th century hunting lodge. Standing in its own grounds in secluded woodland on the beautiful Gower Peninsula.
1 mile off the South Gower Road. 20 minutes walk from the fantastic scenery of Three Cliffs Bay, 5 minutes from Cefn Bryn, 10 minutes from Giants Grave and Cat Hole.
Gower is an area of outstanding natural beauty with a wide variety of scenery including beaches, cliffs and fresh water marshes, woodland and moorland all packed into the 18 miles long Peninsula, and all easily accessible from the house. |

History of Area and House
In Neolithic times the area was well inhabited. Green Cwm a 10 minute walk from the house contains Giants Grave, a Neolithic Tomb, Tooth and Cathole Caves which were inhabited by Stone Age Man in which bones and jewellery have been found.
In Norman times it was the Deer Park of the De Breos family who were the Marcher Lords of Gower and owned most of South Wales as far as Brecon. Parts of the original boundary walls ditches and earth banks can still be seen in places depicting all that remains of the 5 mile boundary of the park.
In modern times it was owned by the Duke of Beaufort and then sold to the Vivian family (Lord Swansea) in approximately 1845 and became one of the Shooting Estates of the notable Swansea family who made such an impact on the Industrial and Political scene of the time. It became a farm when the estate was split up in 1952. |
