Laurel Farm is a lovely old farmhouse standing in approximately 4 acres of land. Parts of the house and stable block date back to 1846 and possibly even earlier. The majority of the land is grazing for some of my rescued animals such as sheep and a goat. In addition to these, dogs, cats, ducks and chickens are also kept
Stanton on the Wolds is a very small village on the A606 half way between Nottingham and Melton Mowbray. The farmhouse is over half a mile down a quiet lane well away from the main road.
There is plenty of off road parking for all size of vehicles.
The accommodation is three rooms all on the first floor and as follows:
Double with en suite shower room which consists of toilet, shower and wash basin.
Double or twin room with en suite shower room, which consists of shower and basin and a private toilet.
Double or twin room with a private bathroom, which consists of separate bath and shower, toilet and basin.
All rooms are individually decorated, spacious, well furnished and have colour TV, hospitality tray, hairdryer, bathrobes and a selection of toiletries.
Laurel Farm is not just a no smoking establishment but is for non smokers only. None of the animals are allowed in any of the areas used by guests and is therefore very Asthma and allergy friendly. You can rest assured that your room will not smell of stale cigarette smoke or anything else which could cause distress to an Asthmatic or allergy sufferer.
Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, is served in the large dining room and only fresh local produce is used along with our own free range eggs. Breakfast can be anything from a full monty English to smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, kedgeree and many other choices to tempt the palate.
There is a refrigerator in the dining room for use by guests. Guests are not permitted to take food into the bedrooms but may use the dining room and plates, cutlery etc will be provided at no charge. There are plenty of very good local places to eat without having to go into Nottingham. Please don't hesitate to ask and I am happy to make any bookings.
Laundry service, with a charge, is available for longer stay guests.
Laurel farm is very convenient for the majority of Nottinghamshire's tourist attractions and is ideally situated for the National Water Sports Centre, Trent Bridge cricket ground, International Ice Stadium and all tennis centres.
The local towns of Nottingham, Melton Mowbray, Loughborough and Leicester are all within 20 minutes drive.
