| A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at Gallen-Treath. The guest house, established in 1965, is ideally situated with a panoramic view of both the sea and countryside. |
We specialise in traditional English breakfasts and offer a tasty Vegetarian alternative using mainly local ingredients. We also cater for special diets.
Enjoy your meal whilst looking out over the village of Porthallow and the Falmouth Bay to St. Mawes, the St. Anthony lighthouse and beyond to Dodman Point. |

We offer an upstairs lounge for your relaxation, or you are welcome to step out onto the balcony and breathe in the fresh sea air.
A patio and garden area are available during the summer months where you may wish to sit and observe the multitude of birds feeding in the garden, or simply watch the world go by. |

All our bedrooms are en-suite and individually decorated with colour televisions and generous beverage facilities.
Evening meals are only available if requested at time of booking. However fine cuisine is available in Porthallow at the Five Pilchards inn nearby in St. Keverne, and many other places on the Lizard peninsular. |

The small, unspoilt village of Porthallow (known locally as "Pralla") nestles in the part of Cornwall known as the Lizard Peninsular. The region itself has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The climate is the warmest in Britain and, combined with the unique geology, the conditions are ideal for sub tropical vegetation, some of the rarest plants in the world including the Cornish heath, and an enormous variety of wildlife.
For explorers the nearby coastal path will reveal many fascinating sights; dramatic coastline, luxurient flora, a wealth of history and if you're lucky a sighting of the Cornish Chough.
Nearby diving facilities are ideal for those wishing to explore the drama of the dreaded Manacle rocks. Here lie around 150 recorded shipwrecks and a fascinating array of underwater life. |

Throughout the year barbecues and fetes take place in Porthallow and the historic parish of St. Keverne. The largest and best of these are Porthallow's Summer Beach Party, which includes live music, and the spectacular Autumn Fireworks and Bonfire Party.
A short drive will take you to Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Europe's leading marine animal rescue centre, or you may prefer the largest Satellite Station on Earth at Goonhilly. Falmouth, around 30 minutes drive, has the recently opened National Maritime museum and the older establishmed Pendennis Castle
Cornwall is steeped in history and, if this is your interest, you will not be disappointed - tour the tin mines, mull over a museum or follow the fortunes of the "free traders" (smugglers). The area also offers beaches, gardens and art galleries - in fact something of interest for everyone!
We are open all year round - so we look forward to greeting you whatever the season. |

Directions
From Helston take the A3083 (Lizard road). Past Culdrose turn left on to the B3293. Follow the road through Rosevear and turn right at the roundabout.
Go through Garras, Goonhilly (on your right), Zoar and on to St. Keverne. Turn left at the square by the White Hart pub and the road will take you to Porthallow.
Go through the village and follow the road round to the other side of the valley. (Don't turn right up the very steep hill as this will lead you out of the village!). Gallen-Treath Guest House is on the left side of the road. |

Here at Gallen-Treath we are still involved in the Green Audit scheme, promoted by the Regional Tourist Boards, and the hospitable climates scheme. We hope that you, our guests, will support us in this by offering your comments and suggestions on how we are doing so far.
