We offer two rooms The large room can be configured as a double, twin or family room. It is a light and airy attic room with a view of the river and Sutton Hoo. There is a double bed, two single beds and a double futon. If necessary a travel cot and an inflatable double bed can be provided, allowing eight people to share without feeling cramped. Please note that this room is up three flights of stairs - and the last flight is fairly steep. Help is available with your luggage.
From May to September inclusive, we only accept two-night bookings over a Saturday night for the family room. The single room is on the first floor and looks out over the drive. Both rooms have a television and video recorder with a selection of tapes. There are facilities for making tea and coffee with fresh milk and decent biscuits. The guest bathroom is on the first floor.
Breakfast
We like to make a bit of a production out of breakfast - as you will see from the guestbook on our website. Coming down to the kitchen in the morning, you will be faced with an alarming choice of cereals - although most of our guests tend to opt for the muesli in the earthenware bowl, our home-made yoghurt and stewed fruit. Then there are the eggs. We buy free range eggs from Beacon Hill Farm when a baffling variety of hens peck around the yard. The house speciality is to have them scrambled very, very slowly with the lid on the saucepan. This means they are as unlike hotel scrambled as it is possible to be. Next we offer interesting bread from our excellent local baker and proper jams and marmalade - not the cheap stuff.Obviously we give you filter coffee and fresh, not concentrated, fruit juice… real butter and so on. We don't believe in skimping.
