Visit our charming Edwardian Guest House near Grassington in the heart of beautiful Wharfedale.

The house, built in the early 1900s, still retains many of the original features - lovely stained glass windows and ornate covings and plaster work.
All our centrally heated bedrooms are well furnished and each has colour TV with tea, coffee and chocolate making facilities. We have two double rooms, one with a king size bed, and a twin room - all en-suite. Our one single room has private facilities. Craiglands has its own private of-road parking.

Grassington, in Wharfedale, is a picturesque little town and there is much to interest the visitor in the area. It is also an ideal base for exploring the other Dales and further afield.
There are many interesting walks directly from the house for all abilities, ranging from riverside ambles to strenuous hill walking.

We have maps and books available for guests' use and we are only too happy to offer advice on walks if required.Beautiful scenic tours by car can be made to Malham, Kilnsey, Kettlewell, Buckden and Hawes to name but a few.Towns nearby worthy of a visit are Skipton, Settle, Ilkley and Harrogate. In addition York and Leeds are easily accessible.

Also within easy reach are Wensleydale, Nidderdale, Dentdale, Swaledale, even the Lake District. The choices are endless and the variety of scenery is impressive. |
Grassington is famous for regular events during the year which draw visitors from all parts of the British Isles and foreign tourists also. The major events are the Grassington Festival which runs for two weeks at the end of June and the Dickensian Festivities which are held on the first three Saturdays in December.
The Grassington Annual Festival of Arts and Music consists of a programme of classical, modern, jazz, theatre, discussions - a huge variety to suit all tastes with some very prestigious artists performing. For more details visit the web site: www.grassington-festival.org.uk
The Grassington Dickensian Festivities is held throughout the village from 11am to 5pm and is an old fashioned market with entertainment all day, bands, choirs, buskers, and lots more. Late afternoon there is a torchlight nativity procession. A lot of the stalls are to support local charities. Evening Entertainment each Saturday is held in the Town Hall.
In addition throughout the year there are Arts and Craft Fairs, Concerts, Plays and live entertainment in the square. |
