About Usk
Usk is a small market town on the river of the same name. Its reputation is built on its glorious floral displays which have made it a 'Britain in Bloom' winner and a 'Wales in Bloom' winner on many occasions. The town is awash with colour during the summer months with pots, planters and window boxes bursting with flowers.
Usk is at the heart of rural Monmouthshire, Gwent Rural Life Museum, housed in an 18th Century malt barn, illustrates the old farming methods employed in the area. Displays include the seasonal tasks of the countryman's year, a diary, laundry and farmhouse kitchen.
Usk has something for everyone: antiques, furniture shops, painted cottages, country walks, 10 Golf Courses within a 15 mile radius, a Gliding Club and the river Usk is renowned worldwide for its salmon fishing.
Usk is a perfect position for reaching Cardiff, Newport, Bristol etc. with quick and easy access to both M4 and M5.
So whether your visit is for business or pleasure we are sure you will enjoy your stay at The Castle Inn and we look forward to welcoming you. |
