Arbuthnot House is about you feeling at home, enjoying comfort, in a peaceful garden setting, with the finest access throughout Scotland eg. Grangemouth 10 mins, Stirling 15 mins.
The garden has plants from most of the temperate regions of the world - for example: Rhododendrons from the Himalayas; Embothrium and Crinodendron from Chile; Magnolias from China; Hebes and Olearias from New Zealand; and an Atlantic Cedar and Brewer's Spruce from North America. There is even a Brown Fig which, in a good year in these latitudes, produces some welcome fruit.
Our ambition is to have garden interest at all times of the year - and we are still working towards that! That said, the garden is probably at its best in the weeks from late April to early July - from rhododendrons through to roses. (And, of course, subject to all the uncertainties of the climate.)

Within 20 minutes drive from us there is a wealth of historic towns and buildings - such as Stirling and its castle; Linlithgow Palace (birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots); Blackness castle; Culross; and Callander House.
On our side of Falkirk, the Forth and Clyde and Union Canals are minutes' walk from us, as is the Falkirk Wheel. And, if you would like to enjoy a drink with your meal and not have to drive, there are two restaurants just a minute or two's walk from the end of our garden.
