A Victorian residence, totally renovated is the basis of the luxurious accommodation offered at Applewood House. This, together with a very personal service from the owners, Barry and Lesley Knight, is intended to ensure a most memorable stay.

Rooms

All rooms are spacious with large en-suite facilities, with one twin having a bath. Each room has television and coffee/tea making facilities. The bed and furniture is of pine construction, the mattresses are high quality pocket sprung for comfort. Each room has been individually decorated and enhanced with luxury soft furnishings.

Double glazing and individually controlled radiator valves ensure that all rooms are warm and welcoming. All shower cubicles are of larger than standard size with power showers fitted as standard. The whole hot water system has been redesigned to ensure an abundance of hot water at all times.

Breakfast

From a quick snack prior to a full day's work or a leisurely meal before the day's sightseeing, we will ensure that breakfast is an enjoyable experience, offering everything from a full English cooked breakfast to cold meats and cheeses, with the food being freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients, wherever possible. Freshly squeezed orange juice is available, as are a variety of teas and coffees.

Hospitality

We aim to provide you with a warm welcome and give you all the help to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. A complimentary drink is offered on arrival and we will help you organise your visit, book restaurants, make travel arrangements or merely keep in the background if that is what you want.

Standards

We aim to provide a very high degree of comfort, including high quality bed linen, excellent towels, with furnishings of which we are proud. The cleanliness and general structure is exceptional. As well as all this, our house meets the latest, most stringent fire and environmental health regulations.

We are a No Smoking establishment throughout the house and would request that all guests respect this policy.

Location

Situated on a residential street, Applewood House is located on the prestigious south side of Harrogate, making it ideal for access to the vibrant commercial city of Leeds, and its airport, yet is in walking distance of Harrogate's numerous restaurants and shops. It is 1 mile from the Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Access

We can provide a service for collecting our guests from, and returning to the airport (not complimentary) and railway station, but this is subject to prior arrangement. We also have off-street parking for those using a car.

Harrogate

Harrogate is a renowned spa town with a genteel, elegant atmosphere, close to the Yorkshire Dales (and 2 National Parks) which are renowned for their scenery as well as for such activities as walking and caving. Within 20 miles there is ;York with its cathedral (Minster), National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Exhibition, Castle Museum; Leeds with The Royal Armouries; Bradford with the National Museum of Photography. Together with the many historic castles, abbeys and fine country houses all within a short distance, there is a tremendous range of places to visit and activities to do that make Harrogate an ideal holiday centre.

Golf

We are both keen golfers and would be delighted to make arrangements for any golfing group to play on the many championship courses in the area.

Hiking

We are able to offer assistance in planning walks, and can even arrange for guided walks if requested.
