Pickering a gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, is a bustling market town offering a vast array of traditional and tourist activities, with a medieval castle, weekly market day and monthly farmers market, as well as the fascinating North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway which offers an insight into yesteryear, and a range of individual shops to delight the visitor.

Situated within the town centre, 17 Burgate has been carefully renovated to a style in keeping with the buildings captivating history, dating back to the 17th Century. The property now boasts five luxury en-suite rooms, as well as a resident's lounge, bar and a Georgian breakfast room.

Facilities

Each en-suite room is tastefully furnished in light oaks blended with modern and oriental touches and traditional furnishings. Every room has a widescreen or flat screen TV with free view and DVD and CD facilities, bring your own or choose from our growing selection. The rooms also include hair dryer, trouser press, waffle dressing gowns, spa cosmetics and complimentary hot drinks tray; as well as free Ethernet broadband connection access, easy chairs and a writing table.

The lounge bar is a classic mix of contemporary art and snug furnishings, with leather sofas and easy chairs, and a log fire for those long winter days. The bar itself hosts a wide range of liqueurs and spirits, as well as vintage brandies and an interesting wine list featuring French vintages alongside New World discoveries. Opening off the bar is the courtyard a summer suntrap, and the only smoking area at 17. Beyond this are the recently landscaped and planted gardens and the private car park in which you are welcome to leave your vehicle throughout your stay.

Full English and continental breakfast are served in the breakfast room, mid week from 8:30 until 9:30 and weekends and Bank Holidays from 9:00 until 10:00. You have only to ask and an earlier breakfast can be arranged. We can also serve continental breakfast to your to your room, along with a range of homemade supper dishes, including pates or cheese board and salads. All our produce where possible is locally sourced, earning us the "Deliciously Yorkshire" award.

Many visitor attractions are situated within easy driving distance from Pickering.

Each bedroom has a flat screen television with Freeview and DVD, hairdryer, trouser press, waffle dressing gowns, complimentary hot drinks tray, B.T. telephone, free broadband internet access, easy and upright chairs and writing table. In addition there are fluffy towels, aromatic candles, and luxury spa therapy toiletries.

Tariff

We hope you will have the opportunity over time to stay in each of our bedrooms. The prices shown include V.A.T at 17.5% and full English breakfast. Continental breakfast can be served in either the Restaurant or to your room. This is available Monday to Saturday 8.30 am to 9.15 am. and Sundays and Bank Holidays between 9.00 am. and 9.45 am. Continental breakfast can be served in either the Restaurant or to your room.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations can be guaranteed by credit or debit card - no amount is normally charged until check out. You can also guarantee rooms by Cheque, and we then normally ask for the first nights charge to be send in advance, which is non refundable. Reservations cancelled within 72 hours of arrival will be charged the full amount unless the room is re-let. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival, a £30 non refundable deposit per room will be held against your future booking.

Guests are requested to check out by 11:00am and check in is not encouraged before 4:30pm. However, if you would like to arrive earlier then please let us know when making a reservation. By all means leave your car in the car parking and explore Pickering.

We are quite happy to make dinner reservations for you in advance of your stay, and also happy to arrange for champagne, chocolates, flowers or other outdoor activities on your behalf, to make your stay more memorable, please ask when booking.
